Hoy he tenido una mañana de sábado deliciosa. He estado leyendo un poco del libro El Cultivo de tu Fregonería, del fallecido Dr. Enrique Canales (1936-2007), prestigiado editorialista -entre otras profesiones- durante muchos años del periódico el Norte.
El libro lo adquirí en 1999, el 28 de enero para ser preciso, poco menos de dos años después de su primera edición. No es que tenga memoria fotográfica, tengo la mala costumbre de anotar la fecha de compra en la primer hoja de cada libro que adquiero.
El Dr. Canales tenía esa valiosa capacidad de hacerte pensar al leer su columna Mexicar en el periódico El Norte y varias decenas más de diarios en todo el país, hoy aún me hace pensar al hojear su excelente libro.
«A veces cuestionamos el sentido de nuestra existencia. Somos lo que hacemos. Algunas creencias estorban«, es como inicia el primer capítulo del libro.
Antes de ser resultado de lo que hacemos, somos resultado de lo que leemos, de lo que entra a nuestra mente resultado de observar, sentir, escuchar, oler y probar, sobre todo en el observar está el leer. La lectura nos hace personas, la buena lectura nos hace buenas personas.
Y sigue: «Jaime Sabines, triste ante lo difícil de darle sentido al quehacer, se confiesa: Si pudieras escarbar en mi pecho, y escarbar en mi alma, y escarbar por debajo de las tumbas, no encontrarás nada. Es sólo el tiempo el que nos pone algo, en las manos, una fruta, una piedra, algodones o vidrios».
No se a que te dedicas, ni se si eres feliz con lo que haces en tu vida, pero te aseguro que después de leer -incluso parte- de este libro, lo que hagas ya no lo podrás ver con los mismos ojos, para empezar ya no estarás conforme con lo que haces hoy. Y eso es maravilloso al final del día.
